Looking after your brows

Day 1

Wash your brows an hour or two after your appointment. Use mild soap or cleanser, lather with clean fingers and gently go over your brows. Rinse and pat dry with a clean towel/paper towel. Apply a thin layer of the ointment you were sent home with.

Keep your brows dry and sweat-free. It’s fine if a little bit of water gets on them, but avoiding soaking and steaming is important. Careful to tip your head back when you wash your hair and keep it brief.

Day 2 & 3

Wash your brows once a day with your mild soap or cleanser (think Cerave, Cetaphil, Eucerin). Use very light pressure when washing, so as not to disrupt the skin and pat dry with a clean towel/paper towel. Keep applying ointment morning and night with a q-tip or clean fingers to protect your skin while it heals.

Avoid sun exposure as sunscreen is not advised at this point. Hats are your friend.

Continue to keep your brows dry and sweat-free.

Days 4 - 10

Keep to the same washing and ointment routine. At this point you’ll start to see flakes of skin with surface pigment sluffing off. That’s what we want! Avoiding prematurely picking of these flakes, as it can impede retention.

You know it, continue to keep your brows dry and sweat-free.

After 10 days is up you might find your brows look excessively light. You’ll likely find that the colour continues to surface in the coming weeks.

Looking after your freckles

Days 2 - 7

Wash your face once a day. Use a simply cleanser like Cetaphil or Cerave. With clean hands, cleanse with light pressure. Once dry, pat on a simple, gentle moisturizer.

The freckles will start to flake off around day 4 or 5. Avoid picking at them as it will impact retention.

Avoid sun exposure as sunscreen is not advised at this point. Hats, hats, hats.

Keep your skin dry and sweat-free.

Day 8 and on…

At this point likely everything has flaked off. You’re golden. Treat your skin as you normally would, but be diligent with sunscreen henceforth.

After everything has flaked off the freckles can look excessively light, non existent or just red. This is called a ghosting phase. The colour will typically reappear in the coming weeks.
